2011 DBA Open Tournament
The 7th annual "Wars of Washington, DC" DBA
tournament was held on Saturday, 8 Oct. 2011 (1:00-4:30 p.m.) in conjunction with the
Congress of Gamers gaming
convention, at the Rockville Senior Center
in Rockville, MD. In a strong field that had four players vying for
championship honors, David Schlanger retained his DBV championship with a 4-0
record. Mike Guth finished second with his Medieval Portugese.
Jon-Michel Seman won "Best First-Timer" honors. Schlanger took the Mayhem
Award with 26 elements, tying him with Ruth Torres for 3rd on the all-time DBV
Mayhem list. A total of 7 generals were killed in the first three rounds,
a casualty rate of nearly 50%, which reflected the overall aggressive play.
Book III armies showed best overall, with a 10-6 record.
